The House of the Lord

I can say along with the Psalmist David " I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go unto the House of the Lord." It was such a pleasure to attend church this morning.

We attended a small country church this morning.. I was asked to play the piano for the morning worship service. I gladly consented. We do not presently have a home church. We have been searching for 6 mos.

We went to this church 6 mos. ago, when we first left our previous church. The worship leader is a friend of ours and knew that we would possibly be leaving due to the dissolving of the body of believers. He had asked if I would come fill in for the regular pianist whose mother was ill.

Rebbecca's(the reg. pianist) mother has cancer. Rebbecca said last Sunday when we visited that the cancer is back and that she would need to be with her mother again. Her mother lives out of town. Pray for Rebbecca and her family as they deal with this crisis in their lives.

It seems as if God keeps drawing us back to this small country church. My husband seems to be more comfortable there than anywhere else we have visited. He has a few friends there. My youngest son attends there also. He is not very regular but when does go this is where he attends. He went with us today.

It was a joy for us to worship together as a family. My son is trying to do what is right and to serve the Lord. Please pray for him. There is so much going on in his life right now that I can not get into here.

I am thankful that God chose to use me today. I am not used to warming a pew. He has never allowed me to do that for long. I have always done something whether it was play the piano, teach Sunday School, type the bulletin or whatever. If he calls me to sit in the pew, I will do that and be a pray warrior.

I pray that you are enjoying this Lord's Day. I pray that you had a chance to enter His House and worship Him together with your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Love your sister in Christ,

Linda

  1. Hi Linda! What a blessing that it appears the Lord may be leading you all to a new church home. Nothing wrong with a little country church that proclaims the gospel.

And there's nothing wrong with being a violet, either! They bless me in the early spring each year when they come up voluntarily in our woods. They bring me such joy and encouragement.

Thank you so much for following along on my blog. I'm afraid I'm rather preoccupied with life issues with my Mom and step Dad. I'm still in PA rather than home with my hubby in the mountains of NC. Your header picture made me so homesick!

  2. Marsha,
Thanks for your comments. I do sense that this maybe where God is leading us. No there is nothing wrong with little country church. I grew up in small country churches.

I am sorry that you are homesick. I hope the issues with you Mom & step Dad resolve soon.

The header picture is Wilder Mtn in TN. I traveled that road everyday to go to highschool. My Dad is a home missionary. That is where we were during my teen years. I met my husband there.

Your comments are so welcome. Just make sure your comments are ones that you wouldn't mind that Mother read. I do promise not to invite her to read them though.
