Knowing Your Place

Just thought I share an e-mail sent to me. I have been having a rough go. My MS has flared and caused me to have to use a cane for a while. First time for me to have to use a cane. A humbling experience for me.

I still realize God's grace is sufficient and that He is still on His throne. Sometimes He just has to remind me of that.

You are seated with Christ at God's right hand...
Nothing is higher than that !
God loves you with an everlasting love...
Nothing is deeper than that !
He invites you to drink from the river of His delights...
Nothing is purer than that !
He shares His heart with you in communion...
Nothing is dearer than that !
He watches over you with tender mercies...
Nothing is kinder that that !
He is with you and will never leave you...
Nothing is nearer than that !
He leads you according to the counsel of His own will...
Nothing is wiser than that !
He faithfully feeds you from His word...
Nothing is truer than that !
He is in you and joined to your spirit...
Nothing is closer than that !

Who Am I

I have signed up on Beth Moore's site, Living Proof and committed to memorizing 24 verses of scripture for the coming year. We commit to memorizing a verse on the 1st and the 15th of each month.  Each person decides for their self what  scripture they feel God is leading them to memorize.  Then each person logs in with their scripture for the appointed time.

The scripture that I have committed to memorize for January 1, 2011 is 2 Samuel 7:18.

"And King David went in and sat before the Lord and he said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house that You should bring me this far."  2 Samuel 7:18

I have just finished a Deeper Still Bible Study and this is one of the verses that has really spoken to me. I have just sat and parked awhile with this verse, meditate on it, or chewed the cud as some old timers used to say. The New Year is really the time to stop and reflect on what God has done for us and our families. For us to realize that is because of nothing that we have done but because He loves us. All of the time it is for God 's glory and for His sake.
In Isaiah 37:35 God says:
35 For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.
Isaiah 45:11
For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; For how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another.
Just some thoughts for you to reflect upon.
Blessings my dear friends

Happy New Year

Happy New Year every one. I pray that 2011 holds all that you envision it to be. However, we all know that most of our dreams do not always come true. Unexpected things pop up in our life that we did not plan for. That is part of living in this sin cursed world.  There is only one thing that we can count on. That is God is there no matter what we are going through.  So when you do not know what to do this coming year  keep your eyes upon Him and follow in His steps.

White Christmas

We woke up to a white Christmas. The first in many years. It was beautiful. It was my granddaughter's first Christmas. We really enjoyed seeing the snow. Now I am ready for it to leave. I thought I would share a few pictures with you.
Our side yard with more snow to come.

The highway in front of our house.

Walking in the woods.

Out riding to the Lake.

Happy Thanksgiving

I know that everyone has so much to be Thankful for. I have. There is so much that God has blessed me with. I know for some this year has been harder financially than it is in the past. However, I know that most of us still have more than our brothers and sisters around the world.
I have been blessed with a granddaughter this year. Hannah is nearly 4 months old. She melts our hearts.
My parents are still here to celebrate Thanksgiving with us. Dad had a nasty fall a couple of months ago and then developed clots on his brain. He was in the hospital for several days. God was gracious and allowed him to come home. God used him during his time in the hospital and he led 4 precious souls to Christ during his stay.  Mother is doing so much better. She has pretty much recovered from her stroke in 2009.
Another praise, my best friend's husband received Christ as his Savior. I having been praying for him since I have known her (19yrs). He is 83 yrs old. He is quite a bit older than her. I have been rejoicing since receiving her phone call on Saturday.
A prayer request, pray for my brother who wife went to heaven last October. The holidays are really hard for him and the family this year. Last year he was still in shock. This year it is really hitting him.
More exciting news. My nephew just finished 15 weeks of basic training. He is home on a 10 day leave before going to his next placement. He  has surprised everyone today by eloping. We are pleased to have a new addition to our ever growing family. I know that my brother and my sister in love are thrilled to have a daughter in love. Since they missed out on the girls like I did. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
