Happy Halloween

Every time I think of this time of year. I remember in elementary school memorizing this poem.  I am sure many of you did too.  I hope you enjoy the trip back down memory lane.

Five Little Pumpkins
Five little pumpkins
Sitting on a gate.
The first one said,
"Oh, my it's getting late!"
The second one said,
"There are witches in the air!"
The third one said,
"Well, I don't care!"
The fourth one said,
"Let's run and run and run!"
The fifth one said,
"I'm ready for some fun!"
Ooooo went the wind
And out went the lights
And the five little pumpkins
Rolled out of sight.

This Far

What have you been doing this fall? What have you been studying in God's Word? I have been using "Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed" by Priscilla Shirer, Beth Moore, & Kay Arthur to study with this fall.  This past week the verse that we are dwelling upon is

2 Samuel 7:18 "Then King David went in and sat before the LORD; and he said: "Who am I, O Lord God? And what is my house, that You have brought me this far?"

I thought I would just share with you my friends and let you dwell with me on what how God has brought you this far. How great His grace and mercy is upon someone like me and you that he should do so much for us when he shouldn't do one thing for us. How deep His love for us.

Happy Fall

I hope everyone is having a wonderful autumn season. Things have been hectic here. My father has had a fall off a ladder. Has been in the hospital twice because of the fall. This last time he had multiple blood clots resulting from the fall three weeks before. He has been in the hospital 9 days. Thank the Lord he is coming home today. God has been gracious!
My husband and oldest son have had  a very bad viral sinus infection but are on the road to recovery.  I have been enjoying keeping my 10 week old granddaughter, Hannah. I also have a frozen left shoulder. So I am going to physical therapy to regain my range of motion.
However, I do love the glorious autumn season, beautiful fall leaves, and cool, crisp days.  Here is an email sent to me today. Hope you enjoy.

Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin.   God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.   He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff-- including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.     Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see.   This was passed on to me from another pumpkin.   Now, it is your turn to pass it to a pumpkin.   I liked this enough to send it to all the pumpkins in my patch.   Happy Fall!
